20 Kidnapped Medical Students Rescued in Benue State Operation

The Police Command in Benue State has confirmed the rescue of 20 medical students from the University of Maiduguri and University of Jos, who were kidnapped by gunmen on August 15, 2024. The students, who were en route to Enugu for the Federation of Catholic Medical and Dental Students (FECAMDS) Convention, were abducted in Otukpo.

Sewuese Anene, the Public Relations Officer for the Benue Police Command, reported the students' release late Friday night in Makurdi. A House Officer who accompanied the students was also rescued. Further details about the rescue operation will be provided on Saturday morning.
