29-Year-Old Dr. Eli Joseph Makes History as Youngest Black Professor Teaching Simultaneously at Four Prestigious Universities

In a groundbreaking achievement, Dr. Eli Joseph, a 29-year-old scholar, has etched his name in history by becoming the youngest Black professor to teach simultaneously at four distinguished universities. Earlier this year, he made headlines for teaching at Columbia University, New York University (NYU), and UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles). Now, as of August 2023, Dr. Joseph has added Dartmouth College (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute) to his roster, further solidifying his remarkable accomplishment.

Dr. Joseph's academic journey is a testament to resilience and determination, overcoming over 1,500 job rejections, 30 college denials, and 75 scholarship foundation refusals. Despite facing setbacks, including rejection from elite institutions like Princeton, UPenn, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, and Brown University, Dr. Joseph persevered.

In 2012, he received a rejection letter from Columbia University, and today, he serves as an associate faculty in the applied analytics program at Columbia University School of Professional Studies. Similarly, after being turned away by the NYU Tandon School of Engineering in 2016, he now teaches graduate students at the NYU School of Professional Studies.

Dr. Joseph's resilience extends to the professional realm, where he encountered thousands of rejections from top firms in finance, technology, and managerial consulting, including JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Google, Amazon, Facebook, BCG, McKinsey, Deloitte, and Bain.

His journey is marked not only by academic accomplishments but also by overcoming personal challenges, including the loss of his older brother last year. Dr. Joseph, who earned his Doctorate in Business Administration from Felician University at the age of 24, is the author of the book "The Perfect Rejection Resume: A Reader’s Guide to Building a Career Through Failure."

His recent TEDx talks, titled "Time Is Your Biggest Competition" and "No Trace, No Case," showcase his motivational perspective on using failures as stepping stones to success. As one of the youngest members of the World Economic Forum Expert Network, Dr. Joseph aims to collaborate with elite researchers to find tangible solutions benefiting global companies and enhancing the welfare of both individuals and organizations.
