Joseph M. Grant, a 70-year-old man, fulfills a lifelong dream by earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Political Science from Howard University in Washington DC, United States.

Throughout his life, Grant passionately studied American government and Black politics, demonstrating that academic excellence knows no age limits. "I always wanted to go to Howard; literally all my life," expressed Grant, reflecting on his enduring aspiration.

Grant, who initially taught at a South Carolina community college for four years, found inspiration in helping students overcome government-related challenges. Reflecting on his journey, Grant hopes to motivate others and inspire change. Additionally, he aspires for his grandchild to attend Howard University, sharing, "I want him to know that his grandfather did it and that I completed my program at 70 after facing many challenges."
