Ambrose Alli University (AAU) is set to resume academic activities after a dialogue between the Management and the SUG
At the Assembly held today 4th October 2023, among students shareholders in Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma which comprises of the Student Union Government, Faculties and Departmental Presidents as well as class reps from different levels in various departments, a decision was reached for academic activities to resume back on campus, Myschoolnews report.
This is coming from the background of a meeting held yesterday between the students representatives and management representatives on the best way to settle the cris!s which has been rocking the university for weeks now.
It was agreed that, the management will temporarily disable the payment portal for returning students for the next one week until the negotiation between both parties is completed and agreement reached.
In the general assembly held today, the students leaders unanimously agreed for academic activities to resume immediately and continue until next week wednesday (One Week) while the prot£$t be temporary suspended. During this period, the students will closely monitor the response and actions taken by the management as regards to their demands.
If the management bodies fulfills the demands set forth by the students, it will undoubtedly be a positive outcome for all stakeholders involved. However, if they fail to meet up the demands and address the concerns of the students, they will resume their agitation.
In the event of non-compliance of their demands, the students stakeholders have unequivocally agreed that it will initiate a second round of prot£$ts until their demands are met.
It remains to be seen whether the management will take swift action to fulfill the demands of the students or if the school will be plunged into another wave of prot£$t.
We will continue to closely monitor the situation and provide updates as events unfold. Stay tuned for further developments on this pressing matter.
