Abia Schools Bolster Security Measures After Kaduna Abduction
NSCDC in Abia State intensifies security measures in schools following Kaduna abduction.
In response to the recent abduction of school staff and children in Kaduna State, Nigeria, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Abia State has intensified efforts to safeguard schools and students in the region.
During a crucial meeting held at the NSCDC Command Headquarters in Umuahia, Abia State, Commandant Usman Ishaq Alfadarai urged the Armed Female Squad and the Safe School Team to redouble their efforts in ensuring the safety of educational institutions and their occupants.
Expressing concern over the distressing incident in Kaduna State, Alfadarai emphasized the importance of implementing strategic, proactive, and preventive measures to prevent similar occurrences in Abia State. He highlighted the significance of maintaining peace and tranquility within school environments.

Addressing the armed Female Squad directly, Alfadarai underscored the strategic role they play in supporting the Safe School Programme initiated by the Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi. He urged them to carry out their duties diligently to restore public confidence and justify their establishment.
The Commandant reiterated the commitment of the Federal Government to the Safe School Programme, with the NSCDC leading efforts to ensure the safety of students, staff, and educational infrastructure nationwide.
Alfadarai commended the courage and commitment exhibited by NSCDC officers and personnel, particularly highlighting their recent training which has equipped them with necessary skills and readiness to fulfill the Corps' mandate.
