Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, of has issued a directive to renovate the deteriorating conditions of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) camp in Umunnato, Bende Local Government Area, in order to significantly improve the living standards for corps members.

The directive, directed at the Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Nwobilor Ananaba, was announced following a productive meeting with Gladys Adama, the state’s NYSC Coordinator. Governor Otti expressed his dissatisfaction with the current state of the camp, which has seen better days in terms of infrastructure and overall environment.

The governor's mandate is clear: evaluate the state of the facilities and develop a plan to restore them to their former glory.
