The altercation began when Ms. Pius criticised Nigerian men's comparison to Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala's husband, prompting Mr. Nwaogwugwu to challenge her remarks, asking if she has 0.1 percent of Iweala's brain. In response, Ms. Pius downgraded ABSU, stating, "ABSU is one of the lowly ranked universities in Nigeria, no high IQ required to get in. It's for federal university reject."

She contrasted ABSU with Cambridge University, where she studied on a full scholarship from the Bill Gates Foundation, emphasizing the strict academic standards required for admission.

"When Mr. Ikenna, who attended ABSU, challenges my intellect compared to Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, he overlooks the rigorous standards of Cambridge, which demands excellence," Ms. Pius remarked.
