ABSU NIMELSSA Hosts Successful Medical Seminar on STIs
Abia State University's Nigerian Medical Laboratory Science Students Association (NIMELSSA) orchestrates a fruitful seminar addressing Sexual Transmitted Infections (STIs), emphasizing health education and awareness among students.
In a bid to promote health awareness among its students, the Financial Secretary of the Nigerian Medical Laboratory Science Students Association (NIMELSSA) at Abia State University (ABSU), Comr. Onyenso Anastasia, spearheaded a highly successful medical seminar.
The seminar, held yesterday, focused primarily on educating attendees about Sexual Transmitted Infections (STIs), emphasizing knowledge, safe practices, and overall healthy living. Three distinguished guest speakers, including SCT. Achilefu Ramson (Course Adviser, NIMELSSA), SCT. Christian Kelechi, and Mr. Akataobi Kelechi, delivered insightful presentations, enlightening students on the critical aspects of sexual health.

Following the informative sessions, free medical check-ups were provided to all attendees, which encompassed essential health metrics such as blood pressure, pulse rate, temperature, and complimentary HIV testing. The health team overseeing these examinations was under the capable supervision of the Director of Health, Ikebunna Charles, and SCT. Okezie Priscilla Ozioma, ensuring thorough and professional care.
In her closing remarks, Comr. Onyenso Anastasia encouraged all NIMELSSITES to actively participate in such seminars whenever the opportunity arises, stressing the importance of prioritizing health education and preventative healthcare measures.
The seminar not only served as an educational platform but also underscored ABSU's commitment to the holistic well-being of its student body.
