ABU Inaugurates Committee to Boost Revenue Generation

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has established a five-member strategic committee to assess its revenue generation potentials, financial performance, and expenditure patterns.

The committee, chaired by Prof. Bello Sabo from the Department of Finance, aims to explore sustainable funding alternatives amidst dwindling federal allocations.

The committee's primary objective is to evaluate the university's revenue generation capabilities and identify areas for improvement. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Raymond B. Bako, described the committee's establishment as "timely and critical" given the current economic realities facing higher education in Nigeria.

The committee has been given eight weeks to submit its findings and recommendations. Members include Prof. Mohammed Habibu Sabari from the Department of Accounting, Malam Yahaya Husseini from the Cash Office, Malam Nuhu Onimisi from the Finance Office, Institute for Agricultural Research, and Malam Salisu Hamisu Ibrahim from the IJMB Directorate, who will serve as Secretary.

This initiative demonstrates ABU's commitment to financial sustainability and innovation under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Adamu Ahmed.
