ABU Samaru College of Agriculture Matriculates Students for 2024/2025 Academic Session

The Samaru College of Agriculture, Division of Agricultural Colleges, Ahmadu Bello University, held a matriculation ceremony for new students of the 2024/2025 academic session at the College premises in Samaru, Zaria.
The Provost, Prof. Usman AbdulKarim, highlighted the institution's rich history, dating back to 1921 when it was established as an Agricultural Training Centre at Maigana. Renamed Samaru College of Agriculture in 1932, it is the first agricultural institution in Northern Nigeria and the second oldest in the country.
Prof. AbdulKarim emphasized the college's mission to produce skilled, competent, and entrepreneurial agricultural professionals equipped to drive Nigeria's agricultural transformation.
The Provost cautioned the newly matriculated students to be responsible, dedicated, and open to learning, while also urging them to avoid examination malpractice and cultism.
The Director congratulated the students on embarking on a remarkable academic journey, wishing them well in their studies. The Higher National Diploma, he noted, is not just a certificate but a tool to equip students to become leaders in the agricultural sector, contributing to solving insecurity challenges and creating equitable wealth .
