Adamawa Government Vows Full Support for Federal University of Agriculture Mubi's Take-Off

The Adamawa State Government has pledged full support for the successful establishment of the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi. Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta assured a visiting delegation from the university's governing council of the state’s readiness to aid the institution's development.

The Adamawa State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the successful establishment of the Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi, pledging full support and collaboration.

Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta, made this assurance while receiving a delegation from the university's governing council at the Government House in Yola. The Deputy Governor emphasized that Adamawa State, being the primary beneficiary of the institution, is fully prepared to contribute to its development and ensure a smooth take-off.

Professor Farauta also urged the federal government to prioritize the reconstruction of Mubi Road, a vital federal highway linking Adamawa State to Cameroon. She stressed that the road's rehabilitation is critical for the university's operations and the region’s overall economic development.

In her remarks, Dr. Rukaiyatu A. Gurin, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the University’s Governing Council, highlighted the pressing need for resource upgrades to meet the standards of the National Universities Commission (NUC). Dr. Gurin noted that during a site inspection, the council observed the poor state of classrooms, laboratories, and offices, all of which require immediate intervention to align with national academic standards.

The Pro-Chancellor expressed appreciation for Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s unwavering support for the project and appealed for additional state government assistance to address infrastructural challenges.

The Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi, is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing agricultural education and research in the region. Both the state and federal governments’ collaborative efforts are seen as vital to ensuring the institution’s successful establishment and future impact.
