The Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN) wishes to inform the public that the deadline for applications for the position of Vice Chancellor has been extended by two weeks.

Applications are now due by Wednesday, 20th November, 2024.

The Role of the Vice Chancellor

The Vice Chancellor is the chief executive and academic leader of ADUN. He/She will provide leadership in teaching, research, and Community service, ensuring the university fulfils its vision and mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote academic excellence and research
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and maintain order
  • Advise the Governing Council on policy, finance, and administration
  • Manage student admissions and staff/student welfare
    Qualifications:
  • Distinguished scholar with a proven track record
  • Professor of not less than 10 years standing
  • Experience in academic and administrative leadership positions (such as Head of Department, Dean, and Deputy Vice Chancellor etc.)
  • Strong understanding of ADUN’s vision and mission
  • Excellent publication record in high-impact journals
  • Ability to secure research grants and elevate the University’s academic standing
  • Financial acumen and commitment to responsible resource management
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills
  • Proven ability to establish partnerships with local and international organizations
  • Ability to inspire respect and loyalty within the University community
  • Skill in attracting and retaining talented staff
  • Entrepreneurial drive to secure additional funding for University development
  • Outstanding written and spoken communication skills
  • Commitment to upholding University regulations
  • Proficiency in information technology
  • Excellent physical and mental health
  • Age limit: not more than 65 years upon assumption of duty
  • No current disciplinary investigations for any misconduct
