Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (AE-FUNAI), in a bid to enhance security in the host community, held a crucial security meeting on June 24, 2024. The session was facilitated by Hon. Barr Sunday Nwankwo, Ikwo LGA Chairman, alongside the Students Union Government (SUG) led by Comr. Ezeh Johnpaul Makuochukwu.

The gathering brought together an array of key stakeholders, including community leaders from Ndufu-Alike, lodge presidents, security officials from the Department of State Services (DSS), the Military, Police, AE-FUNAI Chief Security Officer (CSO), the Special Adviser on Security to the governor, and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Committee (JCC) chairman.

The primary agenda was to address prevailing security concerns and develop robust strategies to ensure a safe and conducive environment for students and residents alike. The meeting culminated in several pivotal outcomes:

1. Enhanced Cooperation: There was a consensus to strengthen collaboration among stakeholders, including lodge presidents, to streamline security efforts.

5. Emergency Hotlines: Dedicated hotlines will be made available for immediate contact with security operatives and the SUG security network, ensuring swift responses to any incidents.
