The Vice Chancellor of Alex Ekueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, has promised to improve the living conditions of students in the school environment. He made this statement in his address to 2023/2024 students in their matriculation ceremony.

Professor Sunday Oge Elom acknowledged the challenges faced by students, particularly in areas such as hostel accommodation, lecture halls, and security.

According to him, "We are not oblivious of some challenges that you may be facing in the areas of hostel accommodation, lecture halls, and security. But we are on top of the situation. Management remains committed to students' welfare and would continue to improve the conditions in the hostels and the entire campus."

The Vice Chancellor highlighted ongoing efforts to expand campus infrastructure, including the construction of faculty buildings, lecture halls, laboratories, and staff offices. Additionally, collaboration with security agencies aims to maintain a safe environment conducive to academic activities.

"A Security Committee, comprising staff, students, and representatives from security agencies and the host community, has been established to address security concerns within and around the campus." He noted.

This initiative is expected to significantly enhance the overall student experience and safety by reducing associated risks.
