AE-FUNAI Students Selected for Russia–Africa Young Scientists Forum
Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI), Ebonyi State, has recorded another international research milestone following the selection of a team of its students to participate in the Russia–Africa Forum of Young Scientists: Future Engineers of the World – Foundation for Sustainable Development.

The university announced that its student team successfully passed the competitive selection stage and has been invited to participate in the in-person stage of the forum, which will be held in St. Petersburg, Russian Federation.
The five-member multidisciplinary team comprises Ikpa Chidozie (Team Leader), Ugota Chibuike, Nwojiji Emmanuella, Onela Patience, and Agu Jeremiah.
The students will present a research project titled "An AI-Driven Framework for Rapid Soil Stability Assessment Towards Sustainable Infrastructure Development."
The project was developed by students from the Departments of Civil Engineering, Geophysics, and Computer Science under the academic supervision of the Director of Research and Development, Engr. Prof. Onuegbu O. Ugwu.

According to the university, the achievement reflects AE-FUNAI's growing international recognition in research, innovation, artificial intelligence, and sustainable infrastructure development while demonstrating the success of its commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and research excellence.
Congratulating the students, their supervisor, and the Directorate of Research and Development, the Vice-Chancellor said the selection of the team for the prestigious international forum highlights the university's increasing competitiveness and visibility on the global academic stage.
He expressed confidence in the team's ability to represent the university, Nigeria, and the African continent with distinction at the forum in St. Petersburg.
The university described the achievement as another demonstration of its commitment to producing globally competitive graduates and advancing research that addresses critical development challenges.
