The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ikot Abasi Chapter, has donated a regulatory and informative safety signage to the Federal University of Technology Ikot Abasi (FUTIA) as part of efforts to support the institution's development.

The signage was designed, installed, and officially handed over to the university by the NYCN chapter led by its Coordinator, Hon. (Comrade) John Uwah Unio.
Speaking during the installation of the signage at the university's take-off campus in Ikot Abasi earlier in the week, Unio said the donation forms part of the council's contribution to the growth and development of the institution.
He noted that the initiative reflects the partnership between the National Youth Council of Nigeria and the FUTIA community while reinforcing the council's advocacy for a peaceful campus environment, civic responsibility, and harmonious coexistence between the university and its host community.
He also urged students and members of the host community to comply with the safety and cautionary messages displayed on the signage.
Responding, the Vice-Chancellor of FUTIA, Prof. Leo Daniel, expressed appreciation to the leadership and members of the NYCN, Ikot Abasi Chapter, for what he described as a deliberate and strategic intervention in support of the university.
He commended the installation of the signage, describing its regulatory and informative messages as an innovative approach to promoting safety awareness and responsible conduct within the university community.

The Vice-Chancellor also called on corporate organisations, intervention agencies, and governments at all levels to emulate the gesture by supporting the institution through educational and infrastructural interventions that align with its development goals.
