Ahmadu Bello University NAERLS Creates New Departments, Units
Experienced professionals have also been appointed to oversee six departments, 17 units, six zonal offices, and one Farmer Field School to strengthen agricultural productivity.
Ahmadu Bello University’s National Agricultural Extension and Research Liaison Services (NAERLS) has established two new departments and three units to improve agricultural services nationwide.
The new departments, Agricultural Economics and Agricultural Extension, are headed by Prof. Abdulrahman Ali and Prof. Salisu H. Kura, respectively. Additionally, Monitoring and Evaluation, Servicom, and Gender Units have been created to address emerging challenges in agriculture.
NAERLS Executive Director, Prof. Yusuf A. Sani, described the restructuring as essential for addressing climate-smart agriculture, digital extension services, and value-chain innovations.
