Kaduna State University Seeks Strategic Collaboration with NBRDA

Kaduna State University (KASU) has initiated steps to partner with the National Biotechnology Research and Development Agency (NBRDA) to advance research, capacity building, and infrastructure development in Nigeria.
A delegation from KASU, led by Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Muhammad Bashir Ali, made the proposal during a recent courtesy visit to NBRDA. Prof. Ali emphasized the shared goals of KASU’s Centre for Biosecurity, Biosafety, Infectious Diseases, and One Health (CEBBIDOH) and NBRDA, noting that the collaboration would significantly contribute to national development.
Dr. James Igwe, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Biotechnology and Director of CEBBIDOH, highlighted the importance of joint efforts in addressing challenges related to infectious diseases, biosecurity, and biosafety in the country.
In response, NBRDA’s Director General, Prof. Abdullahi Mustapha, commended KASU’s initiatives and expressed the agency’s readiness to collaborate with CEBBIDOH to strengthen Nigeria’s capabilities in biosecurity and infectious disease management.
Both institutions agreed to form a joint committee to develop a collaborative framework, identify focus areas, and create a comprehensive action plan for the partnership.
