Ahmadu Bello University Makes New Appointments, Renews Some

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala,has made new appointments and re-appointments as follows:

Appointments

1. Prof. Haladu Isa Bayero, Chairman, Staff School Management Board, with effect from 28th September, 2023.
2. Prof. Adebiyi G. Adesiyun, Head, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with effect from 10th October, 2023.
3. Dr. Umar Ayuba Ahmad, Head, Department of Community Medicine, with effect from 10th October, 2023.
4. Dr. Mahmud A. Fatima, Head, Department of Ophthalmology, with effect from 10th October, 2023.
5. Dr. Lawal Suleiman, Head, Department of Radiology, with effect from 10th October, 2023.
6. Dr. Saidu Y. Yakubu, Head, Department of Anaesthesia, with effect from 10th October, 2023.
7. Prof. Kenneth E. Amaefule, Head, Department of Trauma and Orthopedic Surgery, with effect from 10th October, 2023.
8. Prof. Abdulrasheed Ibrahim, Head, Department of Surgery, with effect from 6th October, 2023.

Re-appointments

1. Prof. Mohammed Sani Shehu, Provost, ABU College of Medical Sciences, with effect from 6th October, 2023.
2. Prof. Sani Adamu, as Chief Veterinary Medical Director, Veterinary Teaching Hospital, with effect from 10th October, 2023.
3. Prof. Clement Sunday Bakinde, Head, Department of Archaeology and Heritage Studies, with effect from 10th October, 2023.
4. Prof. Sani A. Abubakar, Head, Department of Medicine with effect from 6th October, 2023.
5. Prof. Ismail Lawal Dahiru, as Deputy Provost, ABU College of Medical Sciences, with effect from 6th October, 2023.
6. Prof. Audu Ishaq Aveka, Head, Department of Psychiatry, with effect from 6th October, 2023.
7. Prof. Musa Abdullahi, Head, Department of Paediatrics, with effect from 6th October, 2023.

The Vice-Chancellor said that all the appointments and re-appointments were in recognition of their administrative and academic leadership qualities and in the hope that they would bring their worthy experiences to bear in the service of the University.
Prof. Bala urged all of them to be fair and honest in their official dealings.
