Akwa Ibom PDP Dismisses Fake News Alleging Celebration of President Tinubu's Certificate Issue
The Akwa Ibom State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) issued a statement on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, urging Nigerians to disregard a false claim attempting to involve Governor Umo Eno in a matter currently undergoing legal processes.
The statement, signed by the party's Publicity Secretary, Borono Bassey, strongly condemned the fake news, describing it as a baseless attempt to drag both the governor and the state chapter of the PDP into a situation they have no jurisdiction over.
The statement emphasized that neither the governor nor the state party could comment on the ongoing matter because it was still being deliberated within the legal system. The PDP in Akwa Ibom State emphasized its commitment to the rule of law and stated that Governor Umo Eno has great respect for President Bola Tinubu, the PDP as the platform that elected him as governor, and the party's presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
The party concluded by urging well-meaning Nigerians to dismiss the ill-intentioned attempt to link Governor Umo Eno and the Akwa Ibom State PDP to the President Tinubu's alleged certificate issue, which remains a subject of legal proceedings.
