The management of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, has announced Friday, November 29, 2024, as a work-free day to honor the late First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor (Mrs.) Patience Umo Eno.

The management of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, has announced Friday, November 29, 2024, as a work-free day to honor the late First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor (Mrs.) Patience Umo Eno.

This declaration follows the directive of the Akwa Ibom State Government to allow residents and members of the Polytechnic community to pay their final respects during her obsequies at Ikot Ekpene Udo, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area.

In a circular signed by the Acting Registrar, Mr. Godswill E. Udofah, all staff and students were informed of the development. Essential service units within the institution are, however, expected to maintain operations to ensure continuity. Security personnel have been directed to heighten vigilance to safeguard lives and property on campus during the observance.

Normal academic and administrative activities will resume on Monday, December 2, 2024.
