The Provost of Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe (NOCEN), Dr. Justina Anyadiegwu, and her management team welcomed members of the Anambra State Executive Council's (ANSEC) Adhoc Committee on Education led by Professor Solo Osita Chukwulobelu, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), on Wednesday, July 10th, 2024.

The committee's visitation aimed to evaluate the college's strengths, weaknesses, and propose strategies to enhance educational quality, including considerations for upgrading or converting the institution into a university.

Professor Chukwulobelu emphasized that the visit was part of Governor Chukwuma Soludo's commitment to bolstering education and human capital development in Anambra State. He underscored the importance of improving teacher competence and educational standards across the state.

Dr. Anyadiegwu expressed gratitude to Governor Soludo for appointing the distinguished ANSEC committee to assess NOCEN. During the meeting, she provided insights into the college's human development initiatives, student enrollment figures, financial management practices, internally generated revenue (IGR), affiliations with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and ongoing infrastructural developments.

Members of the ANSEC Adhoc Committee present included Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, represented by the ministry's Permanent Secretary, Dr. Agbaizu Ifeoma; Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Chiamaka Nnake; Director General of Strategy Execution and Evaluation, Emma Onyilofor; Permanent Secretary to the Office of SSG, Dr. Nwabufor Nwankwo; as well as Professor Greg C. Nwakoby, Professor A.U. Nkemdili Nonyelu, and Committee Secretary Cynthia Mosah.
