The Students' Representative Council (SRC) of Gombe State University, led by Comrade Ibrahim Ibrahim, commissioned three major capital projects for the 2023/2024 academic year on November 16, 2024.

The Students' Representative Council (SRC) of Gombe State University, under the leadership of Comrade Ibrahim Ibrahim, has successfully commissioned three major capital projects for the 2023/2024 academic session. The ceremony took place on November 16, 2024, at the SRC Secretariat premises.

Dignitaries present at the event included the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sani Ahmed Yauta; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Danladi I. Umar; Dean of Students' Affairs, Dr. Hassana Y. Bello; Deputy Dean of Students' Affairs, Dr. Baffi; Head of the Zoology Department, Dr. Charles N. A.; SRC Staff Advisor, Malam Isah Ya'u; former SRC Presidents Comrades Dauda Isah Jibrin and Ibrahim Barashe; as well as past and present SRC executives, stakeholders, and students.

The centerpiece of the ceremony was the inauguration of the Expandable SRC Park, named after former SRC President Comrade Dauda Isah Jibrin, who initiated the project. Declaring the park open, Acting Vice-Chancellor Prof. Yauta commended the project, stating, "The main objective of any student leader is to serve and fulfill the needs of students and the university at large."

Another landmark project was the SRC Bridge, connecting the SRC Secretariat to the Faculty of Pharmacy. This bridge, named Dr. Hassana Y. Bello Bridge, was commissioned by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Danladi I. Umar. He expressed optimism for the university’s future, remarking, "The future of Gombe State University is brighter if this kind of project continues."

The third project was the renovated SRC Secretariat, which now houses the newly named Dr. Charles N. A. Conference Room, in honor of the Head of the Zoology Department. Speaking at the event, Dr. Charles advised student leaders to uphold prudence, accountability, and proper maintenance of facilities, expressing gratitude for the recognition.

In her remarks, the Dean of Students' Affairs, Dr. Hassana Y. Bello, urged students to elect leaders with quality and capacity, emphasizing the importance of protecting student interests for a "better Gombe State University."

Comrade Ibrahim Ibrahim, the SRC President, described the event as a memorable milestone in the council's history. He extended his gratitude to the university management, stakeholders, advisory council members, and students for their support in making the projects a reality.

The projects are expected to enhance student welfare and foster a more conducive environment for academic and extracurricular activities.
