APPON Pays Courtesy Visit to UNIMAID Vice-Chancellor

The Association of Public Procurement Practitioners of Nigeria paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, on July 28, 2025. The APPON President, Dr. James Amem Kanico, led the delegation to discuss potential areas of collaboration between the association and the university.

Dr. Kanico described APPON as the umbrella body for public procurement professionals across all tiers of government in Nigeria, established to unite and advocate for procurement practitioners, promote ethical standards, enhance professional capacity, and contribute to a transparent procurement system and sustainable national development.

The university and APPON discussed possible collaboration in capacity building and professional development.
