An aspiring medical student's life hangs in the balance after a callous act of betrayal by his supposed friends left him brain dead. Christopher Gilbert, a 26-year-old with dreams of becoming a doctor, was pushed into Lake D’Arbonne in Farmerville, Louisiana, despite his inability to swim. Shockingly, his friends callously watched as he struggled in the water, making no effort to rescue him.

The horrifying incident, which occurred on April 14, was captured on video, showing the group peering into the water moments after pushing Gilbert off the dock. According to reports from the New York Post, one woman from the group entered the water briefly before abandoning the rescue attempt. It wasn't until ten minutes later that a bystander at a nearby restaurant jumped in to save Gilbert's life.

Disturbingly, Gilbert's so-called friends initially attempted to pass off the near-death experience as mere "horse-play," even lying to his mother about how he ended up in the lake. However, their deceit was short-lived, as a witness came forward to admit to pushing Gilbert into the water.

Personal injury attorney Claudia Payne, representing George, condemned the actions of Gilbert's friends, highlighting their lack of remorse and failure to take responsibility for their actions. She emphasized the bravery of the bystanders who intervened and rescued Gilbert from the water.

As Gilbert's family grapples with the unimaginable trauma of the incident, they are demanding justice for their son. They question why anyone would push him into the lake knowing he couldn't swim and are calling for the arrest of those responsible for the heinous act.
