ASUP Urges Adherence to NBTE Guidelines in Appointment of Poly Ibadan Rector

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) at the Polytechnic Ibadan has called on Governor Seyi Makinde and the institution's governing council to adhere to the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) 2023 guidelines in appointing the next Rector and management team.
The Chairman of ASUP, Dr. Kola Lawal, emphasized the importance of appointing only chief lecturers from within the Polytechnic Ibadan for the position of Rector, in line with NBTE regulations.

Lawal noted that the current management's tenure, led by Professor Kazeem Adeniyi, is set to end on March 24. He stressed that the institution's governing council had previously domesticated the NBTE guidelines in May 2023.
