Borno State University has issued a directive to all students to complete their National Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) registration before the end of the second semester examinations. The Vice-Chancellor, Engr. Professor Babagana Gutti, mandated that all students must report to the ICT Unit for this purpose no later than Tuesday, December 3, 2024.

Eligibility Criteria
According to the notice, the NELFUND is accessible to students in the following categories:

  • Fresh Entry: Students who have secured admission into an Eligibility Tertiary Institution (ETI) through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
  • Direct Entry: Applicants with valid admission into an ETI via JAMB.
  • Full-Time Undergraduate: Students enrolled in full-time undergraduate programs at an ETI and possessing a matriculation number.

Required Documentation
Students intending to register are expected to fulfill specific Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements, which include:

  1. JAMB Number
  2. Bank Verification Number (BVN)
  3. National Identity Number (NIN)
  4. Personal details such as age, gender, phone number, residential address, and email address
  5. A recent passport photograph
