Borno State University Announces Deadline for NELFUND Registration
Borno State University has announced that all students must complete their National Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) registration by Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the ICT Unit.

Borno State University has issued a directive to all students to complete their National Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) registration before the end of the second semester examinations. The Vice-Chancellor, Engr. Professor Babagana Gutti, mandated that all students must report to the ICT Unit for this purpose no later than Tuesday, December 3, 2024.
The registration process applies to students across various faculties, including:
- Faculty of Arts and Education
- Faculty of Agriculture
- Faculty of Sciences
- Faculty of Social and Management Sciences
- Faculty of Health and Allied Medicine
Eligibility Criteria
According to the notice, the NELFUND is accessible to students in the following categories:
- Fresh Entry: Students who have secured admission into an Eligibility Tertiary Institution (ETI) through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
- Direct Entry: Applicants with valid admission into an ETI via JAMB.
- Full-Time Undergraduate: Students enrolled in full-time undergraduate programs at an ETI and possessing a matriculation number.
Required Documentation
Students intending to register are expected to fulfill specific Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements, which include:
- JAMB Number
- Bank Verification Number (BVN)
- National Identity Number (NIN)
- Personal details such as age, gender, phone number, residential address, and email address
- A recent passport photograph
The university emphasizes the importance of timely compliance with this directive to avoid complications during the registration process. Students are encouraged to gather the required documentation and report to the ICT Unit promptly.
