Bauchi students secure full scholarships for postgraduate studies in China
Five exceptional students from Bauchi State have been awarded full scholarships to pursue undergraduate degrees at top Universities in China.
The development is associated with the visionary leadership of the State Governor, Sen Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed who made the education sector as one the priorities of the administration.
A statement from the State Ministry of Education contained that, “The milestone is a direct result of the Governor’s collaborative efforts with the Shangdon Provincial International Sister Cities Scholarship program, aimed at promoting academic excellence and global education.”
The scholarship program, initiated by Governor Bala Mohammed, identified the 20 best-performing students in the 2023 WAEC and NECO examinations from each of the 20 local government areas in Bauchi State.
After a rigorous selection process, Five students have secured admissions to their chosen programs, while 15 others are still in the process of securing their placements.
The beneficiaries, who hail from various parts of the state, include Aisha Yunusa Ahmad from Jama’are, Hussaina Yakubu from Warji, Abdullahi Abdulrahman Sudais from Ningi, Godfrey Yohana from Bogoro, and Khalil Muhammad Makama from Bauchi.
Four of the students will study Clinical Medicine at Shangdon Second Medical University, while Khalil will pursue a degree in Computer Science and Technology at Liaocheng University.
During a farewell ceremony at the Ministry of Education in Bauchi, the students expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Governor Bala Mohammed for his unwavering commitment to education and opportunities for the people of Bauchi State.
Commissioner for Education, Dr. Jamila Dahiru Muhammad and other officials were also commended for their efforts in facilitating the scholarship.
The achievement is a testament to Governor Mohammed’s dedication to promoting education and opportunities for the indigenous people of Bauchi State.
