Be good ambassadors - Fulafia VC Abdul Rahman charges alumni

The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, had called on the newly sworn-in executives of the Federal University of Lafia Alumni Association Caretaker Committee to be good ambassadors of the institution.

Congratulating them soon after their swearing-in, the vice-chancellor, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Partnerships, Professor Usman Samaila Dakyes, urged them to use their leadership position to enhance the development of the University, saying that "involving the alumni association as part of this administration is a way of moving the University forward.”

Abdul Rahman said that though alumni officials were put in place to prepare for the conduct of free and fair elections for the association, they should ensure strict compliance with the rules governing the association.

He called on the executives to always prioritised the interests of the interests of the University ahead of their personal interests.

Speaking, the Registrar, Malam Nuradeen Abdu, congratulated the appointees, advising them to work together as a family and avoid conflicts amongst themselves.

He said that the Management would support the association for effective results.

The Director of Linkages and Advancement, Dr Muhammed Kabir Dahiru, in his speech, encouraged the new officials, charging them to operate within the rules of the University.

The highlight of the event was the commissioning and handing over of keys to the alumni secretariat to the chairman of the alumni committee.

The office is situated at the Mallam Adamu Adamu Lecture and Office Complex, Permanent Site Campus, (FULafia).

The executives comprised the Chairman, Mr. Abubakar Abdulganiyu Sabo, Secretary, Zhegu Darisin, and Dereck Asibor, Inyang Faith Samuel, Aisha Ari, Peter Paul and Lawal Isa as members.
