Beloved FULOKOJA Lecturer Dr. Oluwakemi Mercy Laid to Rest in Emotional Ceremony

The remains of Dr. Oluwakemi Mercy Emmanuel-Olowonubi, a dedicated lecturer in the Department of Theatre Arts at the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), were laid to rest in a solemn ceremony at her residence in Lokoja. Dr. Emmanuel-Olowonubi tragically lost her life in a fatal trailer accident along the Crusher-Felele road on October 22, 2025.

The university community, including students, colleagues, and management, paid their last respects to the deceased, describing her as a shining light whose sudden departure has left a void ¹. Vice-Chancellor Professor Olayemi Akinwumi led the management to the farewell ceremony, eulogizing the late lecturer for her impactful life and contributions to the university.
