Post-graduate students from the Department of Animal Science and Animal Technology, Faculty of Agriculture and Agricultural Technologies at Benson Idahosa University (BIU), have distinguished themselves at the recent Nigerian Society for Animal Production (NSAP) Conference by winning several awards.

The BIU delegation was led by the Acting Head of Department, Dr. (Mrs.) Ilaboya Ibinabo.

Under the leadership of the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. S.O.E. Alakpa, the students were celebrated during a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor, Professor John Okhuoya, where they showcased their achievements.

Notable award winners include:

  • Mr. Raphael Okuna, who was named Best Student in Animal Breeding and Genetics and also received the Third Best Overall Presenter Award.
  • Mr. Rusak Abdulazeez, awarded Second-Best Oral Presentation in Monogastric Nutrition and Production.
