BIU Post-Graduate Students Shine at NSAP Conference, Bring Home Multiple Awards

Post-graduate students from the Department of Animal Science and Animal Technology, Faculty of Agriculture and Agricultural Technologies at Benson Idahosa University (BIU), have distinguished themselves at the recent Nigerian Society for Animal Production (NSAP) Conference by winning several awards.

The BIU delegation was led by the Acting Head of Department, Dr. (Mrs.) Ilaboya Ibinabo.

Under the leadership of the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. S.O.E. Alakpa, the students were celebrated during a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor, Professor John Okhuoya, where they showcased their achievements.

Notable award winners include:

• Mr. Raphael Okuna, who was named Best Student in Animal Breeding and Genetics and also received the Third Best Overall Presenter Award.
• Mr. Rusak Abdulazeez, awarded Second-Best Oral Presentation in Monogastric Nutrition and Production.

During the visit, the delegation, accompanied by faculty members, expressed gratitude to the university management for its steadfast support in fostering academic excellence and research innovation.

Professor Okhuoya commended the students and faculty for their dedication, urging them to continue elevating BIU’s profile in national and international academic circles.
