In a remarkable feat, British-Nigerian math genius Esther Okade has achieved a groundbreaking milestone by earning her PhD in Financial Mathematics at the age of 16. This comes after obtaining a Bachelor's degree in the same field from the UK Open University at the tender age of 13.

Esther, displaying exceptional mathematical prowess since childhood, commenced her academic journey by solving high-level equations at the age of three. Her early aptitude for mathematics was evident when, at six, she earned a grade C in GCSE maths, qualifying her to sit A-Level maths exams. The University of Cambridge extended an invitation for her to study mathematics there, but Esther's parents opted for homeschooling.

"It’s so interesting. It has the type of maths I love. It’s real maths — theories, complex numbers, all that type of stuff, it was super easy. My mum taught me in a nice way," she shared with CNN.

Driven by her passion for numbers and a desire to contribute to society, Esther outlined her ambitious plans, stating, "I want to (finish the course) in two years. Then I’m going to do my PhD in financial maths when I’m 13. I want to have my own bank by the time I’m 15 because I like numbers and I like people, and banking is a great way to help people."

Esther successfully graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Financial Mathematics at 13 and, three years later, earned her PhD from the same institution. Not only is she excelling academically, but Esther, together with her mother Omonefe, has authored math workbooks for children and developed a curriculum for a proposed preschool.

Determined to give back, Esther and her mother have established "Shakespeare’s Academy," an educational institution focused on teaching morality, ethics, public speaking, entrepreneurship, and the fundamentals of reading, writing, math, and science.
