Dr. Anenga, a member of the inaugural cohort of BSU Medical Doctors, made history by emerging as the overall best candidate in the Faculty of Obstetrics and Gynecology. His exceptional performance earned him five awards, a rare and prestigious accomplishment within the College. His mentor, Professor Terrumun Swende, highlighted Dr. Anenga’s status as one of the brightest graduates from the BSU Medical College and noted that he is the first BSU alumnus to become a Fellow of the Postgraduate Medical College.

In his address, Vice-Chancellor Professor Iorapuu expressed immense pride and joy over Dr. Anenga’s achievements, praising him as a worthy ambassador and a shining star of the University. Professor Iorapuu commended the exemplary mentorship provided by Professor Swende and encouraged other senior academics to support and guide younger colleagues toward similar success. As a mark of recognition, the Vice-Chancellor announced that BSU would sponsor Dr. Anenga’s attendance at the 42nd Convocation Ceremony of the College in Port Harcourt later this month.
Dr. Anenga’s accomplishments extend beyond this accolade; he was also the Best Graduating Doctor at the West African College of Surgeons and currently serves as the Second Vice President of the Nigerian Medical Association. Governor Hyacinth Alia acknowledged his achievements in a congratulatory letter, calling them a "historic milestone."
On behalf of the entire University community and its graduates, BSU extends heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Usha Anenga, celebrating his success and wishing him continued excellence as he furthers the University’s esteemed legacy in the medical field.
