BUK Considers Two-Tier System for Paying Registration Fees - VC

Bayero University, Kano (BUK) is considering introducing a two-tier system for paying registration fees, according to Vice Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas.

He made this disclosure when a supervisory team from the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN), led by Registrar, Pharmacist Ibrahim B. Ahmad, paid him a courtesy visit on Monday, April 22, 2024.

Under the proposed plan, students will be categorized into two groups, with one group paying higher registration fees and the other paying lower fees. Those who pay higher fees will enjoy a constant supply of water and electricity, while those who pay lower fees will receive services commensurate with their payment. The Vice Chancellor explained that this measure is necessary to maintain the university's international recognition, which cannot be allowed to deteriorate.

The PCN team is currently inspecting a 6-week acculturation training program for overseas pharmacy graduates at the University's Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences."
