BUK Organizes Training Programme for University Drivers

 Bayero University, Kano (BUK) in collaboration with the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Kano State Command, has organized a two-day training programme for university drivers.

The training, which took place on May9, 2024, at the Convocation Arena, New Campus, aimed to update drivers on modern driving trends and traffic regulations.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, represented by the DVC (Academic) Prof. Sani Muhammad Gumel, emphasized the importance of knowledge and continuous education for drivers, who play a crucial role in the university community.

The Sector Commander of FRSC, Kano State Command, Commander I. S. Abdullahi, represented by Chief Route Commander Jibril Muhammad Fari, highlighted the commission's activities, including driver education and emergency management.

The training covered six topics, including driving techniques and emergency management, and participants were advised to give their maximum attention throughout the sessions.

University management officials, including the Acting Registrar and Dean of Student Affairs, expressed commitment to improving drivers' service delivery through training and retraining.

Seventy drivers participated in the training, and certificates were presented at the end of the programme.
