BUK Trains Lab Technicians, Technologists on Fire Safety

Bayero University Kano (BUK) organized a one-day training on fire prevention and response for laboratory technicians and technologists on Thursday, May 3, 2024, at the Musa Abdullah Auditorium.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, emphasized the importance of fire safety and the need for proactive measures to prevent fire incidents. He was represented by the Director of Security, Abdulyakin Ibrahim.

The training featured insightful sessions by fire safety experts, including the Controller of Fire Safety at BUK, Sulaiman Sa'd, who discussed fire classification and types of fires. ASF Sabiu Usman Saleh demonstrated practical firefighting techniques and educated trainees on fire extinguishers and their applications.

Trainees actively participated in showcasing their understanding of fire suppression methods, ensuring their preparedness in handling fire emergencies. The training also covered fire alarms, detection, and evacuation procedures during fire incidents.
