BUK VC Commissions Renovated Library at Department of Nigerian Languages
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, has commended the 2015 graduating class of the Department of Nigerian Languages for their outstanding effort in renovating the departmental library, named after Professor Muazu Sani Zaria.

During the commissioning ceremony, the Vice Chancellor praised the department for its pioneering role in the university's establishment over 40 years ago. He noted that the department has consistently attracted numerous foreign visitors and has been at the forefront of promoting Hausa language and culture through various local and international conferences and meetings.

Professor Abbas encouraged the department to develop innovative strategies to attract more students to study Hausa, particularly through collaborative efforts with medical doctors and engineers to promote the language's growth in these fields. Earlier, the Head of Department, Dr. Jibril Shuaibu Adamu, welcomed everyone to the occasion and expressed gratitude to the Vice Chancellor for his presence. He also thanked the 2015 graduates for their determination to renovate the departmental library, which has created a conducive learning environment for students.
The renovated library is a testament to the department's commitment to academic excellence and the preservation of Nigerian languages and culture."
