The Church of God Mission International, has announced plans to establish a university, receiving enthusiastic support from the Abia State Government. The initiative was revealed during a courtesy visit to Governor Alex Otti by the Head of Cabinet Bishops of the Church, Bishop Feb Idahosa, and other leaders, who arrived in Abia for their 2024 Bishopric Convention themed "Supernatural Convention."

Governor Otti, visibly pleased with the church's commitment to educational advancement, pledged the state government's full support, promising to facilitate necessary approvals and provide land for the university project. "I am excited to hear that you intend to set up a university in Abia," Otti stated during the meeting. "Let Dr. George Chidozie be the liaison so that if there is anything you need including land, we will provide it."

The Governor commended the leadership of Church of God Mission International for preserving the legacy of its founder, Archbishop Benson Idahosa, emphasizing the importance of succession planning in religious institutions. He expressed admiration for their proactive approach in not only preaching but also actively contributing to societal development.

Bishop Feb Idahosa, speaking on behalf of Archbishop Margaret Benson Idahosa, praised Governor Otti for his effective governance and dedication to his promises. "We have seen you Sir as having come to Abia and you are doing a wonderful work," Idahosa remarked. "You definitely fit that criteria of not leaving the world the way you met it."

Dr. George Chidozie, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties, assured Bishop Idahosa of the government's commitment to realizing the vision of establishing the university in Abia. The discussions concluded with expressions of mutual admiration and optimism for the future collaboration between the Church of God Mission International and the Abia State Government.

The visit also underscored the significance of the ongoing 2024 Bishopric Convention in Abia State, gathering religious leaders and dignitaries to deliberate on spiritual and societal issues under the theme of supernatural intervention.
