Colleagues Pay Tributes to OAU Zookeeper Killed by Lion

Colleagues of the late Olabode Olawuyi, a Veterinary Technologist at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Ile-Ife, Osun State, gathered to pay tribute to him during a memorial service. Olawuyi tragically lost his life while attempting to rescue a subordinate who was attacked by a lion in the university's zoological garden on February 19.

Mr. Matthew Oluwaniyi, the chairman of NAAT, OAU chapter, highlighted Olawuyi's dedication to his work and his selfless act of bravery in risking his life to save a colleague from a lion's attack. Oluwaniyi emphasized the need for improved safety measures in the workplace and pledged to work with university authorities and relevant organizations to ensure a safe environment for all staff members.
The memorial service concluded with heartfelt tributes to Olabode Olawuyi's courage, dedication, and sacrifice, with attendees expressing their commitment to creating a safer work environment in his honor.
