Comrade Ishaq Ishaq Abubakar Emerges President in Historic E-Voting at FULAFIA

The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has successfully conducted its Students Union Government (SUG) elections through electronic means, marking a significant milestone in the university's history.

Comrade Ishaq Ishaq Abubakar has emerged as the president-elect.

The e-voting system, introduced under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, saw an impressive voter turnout. A total of 22,292 students registered on the platform, with 131,034 ballots processed for the SUG election.

The Student Electoral Committee declared the winners, who met the stipulated requirements. Prof. Aleruchi Chuku, representing the Vice-Chancellor, congratulated all contestants and urged the newly elected officials to uphold integrity and excellence.

The university administration, including the Registrar, Malam Nuradeen Abdu, and other dignitaries, witnessed the announcement of the results. The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) observer delegation, led by Comrade Husseini Jamilu Ibbo, praised the elections as epochal and worthy of replication.

The successful e-voting process has further solidified FULafia's reputation as a hub for innovation and excellence, currently ranked 10th in Nigeria and most sought-after in the North.
