COOU and Uli Progressive Union Unite for Campus Enhancement
Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) and the Uli Progressive Union (UPU) convene to address campus concerns and outline plans for joint initiatives, emphasizing community collaboration and campus development.
In a gesture of mutual respect and collaboration, the University Management at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), led by the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, fnipr, warmly welcomed a delegation from the Uli Progressive Union (UPU) on Thursday, March 21, 2024.
Headed by Mr. Callistus Obinakaba, the President General of the Uli community, the UPU delegation commended the Acting Vice Chancellor for her proactive approach in engaging with the town. Mr. Obinakaba highlighted the historical bond between the University and Uli town, emphasizing Prof. Omenugha's pivotal role as an Astute Educationist in shaping this relationship. He expressed optimism that her legacy would be enduring.

The courtesy visit aimed to address a spectrum of concerns ranging from security, medical facilities, power supply, encroachment on University lands, to structural issues within the campus. Mr. Obinakaba stressed the significance of bolstering student welfare to enhance their academic experience.
In response, the dynamic Ag. Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, underscored the University's potential and pledged to address the rehabilitation needs of the Uli campus. She emphasized the necessity of collaborative efforts between the University and the community, reflecting her commitment to transformative change.
Prof. Omenugha commended the Uli community for maintaining peace and security within the University premises and outlined her vision for advancing the institution's effectiveness. She assured the delegation of government support in propelling higher education forward.
