The management of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) has disowned a social media publication circulating alleged cut-off marks for the 2026/2027 admission exercise, describing it as false, unauthorized, and misleading.
The university said its attention was drawn to the post being shared by a self-styled “campus gist” content creator, which purported to present official admission benchmarks for prospective candidates.
COOU firmly stated that the information did not originate from the institution and should be disregarded in its entirety by prospective students, parents, guardians, and the general public.

The university emphasized that all official announcements regarding admissions, screening exercises, cut-off marks, and related academic processes are communicated strictly through its verified website and official social media platforms.
It further warned against reliance on unofficial sources, stressing that such misinformation is often used by admission racketeers to exploit unsuspecting candidates.
According to the management, the institution is aware of individuals and groups engaging in fraudulent activities under the guise of offering admission assistance, and it urged the public not to engage with them or make any financial payments in exchange for admission promises.
COOU reiterated its commitment to transparency in its admission process and encouraged candidates to rely solely on authenticated communication channels for accurate and timely information.
