Prof. Mathias O. Ananti and Prof. Osita I. Chiaghanam were on Thursday 26th October 2023, re-elected as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor - Administration and Academics respectively for a second term in Office, Myschoolnews report.

The re-election took place at the 126th Senate Meeting of the University at the Igbariam Campus. It was conducted by the Director of Academic Planning, Prof. Emeka Obi, and the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. C.O.A. Ugwumba. Prof. Osita Igwebuike Chiaghanam who was re-elected as the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academics, is a Professor of Geology with bent in Sequence stratigraphy/sedimentary rock.

He has served the University in various capacities. From 2008-2009, he served as the Assistant Coordinator of Pre-Science Programme. He was the Head of the Department of Geology between 2009-2012 and then served as the Dean of Student Affairs between 2012-2013.

He was the Coordinator Pre-Degree (Science) between 2013-2014, Dean Faculty of Physical Sciences from 2018-2021, and was eventually first elected as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor - Academics in October 28th 2021. Similarly, Prof. Mathias Ozoemena Ananti, the re-elected Deputy Vice Administration, is a Professor of Public Administration with interest in Human Resource Management, Public Policy and Development Studies and has served the University in various capacities.

Between 2016-2018, Prof. Ananti was the Head of Department of Public Administration. He has also served as the Dean of Student Affairs from 2018-2021 and was first elected as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration in October 28th 2021. We wish them a successful tenure in Office.
