On Wednesday, 4th February 2026, the Faculty of Arts of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), led by Dean Professor Cynado Ezeogidi, paid a courtesy visit to Vice-Chancellor Professor Kate Azuka Omenugha at the Vice-Chancellor’s Conference Room.

The visit, part of activities preceding the Faculty’s 6th Annual Conference, drew high-profile dignitaries from academia, government, and public service. Notable attendees included AIG Abayomi Peter Oladipo, Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 13 Headquarters; Commissioner for Petroleum Hon. Anthony Ifeanya; Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ibezim; Professors Jeremiah Chukwuneke and Frank Collins Okafor; and Mrs. Doris Mmaduabuchi, representing NELFUND.

During the engagement, AIG Oladipo lauded Professor Omenugha’s visionary leadership, particularly her commitment to institutional growth and technological advancement. He also highlighted concerns over the global misuse of artificial intelligence, cautioning that it could undermine the technology’s intended benefits.

In her remarks, Professor Omenugha emphasized the University’s commitment to security and the importance of collaboration with security agencies to strengthen institutional safety. She also expressed appreciation to the Faculty of Arts and its Dean for aligning with COOU’s 3Vs agenda—Values, Viability, and Visibility—and for contributing to a vibrant and cohesive academic community. The Vice-Chancellor reflected on her tenure with gratitude, noting her historic role as the first female Vice-Chancellor in the University’s over 25-year history.
