In a commendable act of community service, Corps Member Ogunsola Elizabeth Ayoduni, with NYSC Code Number OG/23C/2683, has constructed and donated a block of two classrooms to OLG Nursery and Primary School, Egbeda Village, located in Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State. The project, completed under the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Community Development Service (CDS) initiative, was officially commissioned on Tuesday.

The Ogun State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Olayinka Diana Nasamu, represented by Mrs. Abosede Adegasoye, performed the commissioning ceremony. In her address, Mrs. Nasamu praised Corps Member Ogunsola for her dedication and the significant impact her efforts have made in the village. She emphasized the importance of the CDS program, which empowers Corps Members to make meaningful contributions to their host communities.

“This project is a shining example of the dedication and commitment to community development that the National Youth Service Corps inspires in our young men and women,” Mrs. Nasamu noted in her speech. She also encouraged other Corps Members to emulate Ogunsola's exemplary service by taking on similar initiatives that address community needs.

The Baale of Egbeda Village, Chief Oluwasegun Otegbeye, expressed his gratitude, describing Corps Member Ogunsola as “God-sent” and commending the NYSC for encouraging such impactful acts of service. He pointed out that the new classrooms would significantly improve the learning environment for the pupils of OLG Nursery and Primary School.

Speaking on her motivation for the project, Corps Member Ogunsola revealed that she was moved to take action after seeing children being taught under a tree due to inadequate learning facilities. Despite encountering financial challenges, her determination to make a difference in the community helped her see the project through to completion.

Mrs. Nasamu also called on community leaders and philanthropists to support Corps Members in their community development initiatives, stressing that such assistance is crucial in empowering young people to contribute meaningfully to society.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by community members, school officials, and local leaders, who lauded the initiative as a significant step forward for the education of the village's children.
