Crescent University Hosts IBA-ICC Moot Court Winners, Rewards Team for Global Feat

The Erelu Auditorium, Bola Ajibola College of Law, Crescent University, Abeokuta, was filled with celebration on Monday as the university hosted the Spirit of the Competition Award winners from the just-concluded International Bar Association-International Criminal Court Moot Competition in The Hague, Netherlands.

The winning team from Crescent University comprised Justus Adeyemi, Hadiqah Orisadare, Muhammedgazaal Abudu, Fareedah Akinsola, and Karamat Lawal, under the guidance of their coach, Dr. Mujeeb Imran.

University management commended Team Crescent for projecting the institution positively on the global stage. 

Speaking at the ceremony, the Proprietor and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Prince Ma’ruf Adesegun Ajibola, SAN, expressed delight that the vision of the late founder, His Excellency Prince Bola Ajibola, was being actualized through the students’ achievement.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibraheem Gbajabiamila, noted that BACOLAW had consistently recorded academic and moral excellence since inception, citing the performance of alumni who graduated with first-class honours as evidence.

Dr. Imran, the team coach, appreciated the university management for financial, moral, and intellectual support, and singled out the Registrar, Prince Zakariyyah Ajibola, for his consistent encouragement throughout the competition.

In recognition of their excellence, Prince Ma’ruf Ajibola directed that a cash reward be credited to each team member’s bank account. A friend of the university also donated additional cash prizes to the students.

Crescent University described the feat as another testament to its commitment to “breeding upright achievers”.
