David Umahi University Expels Eight Students for Misconduct
David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences in Ebonyi State expels eight students for misconduct while matriculating 800 new students during its 3rd matriculation ceremony.
In a stern demonstration of its commitment to upholding discipline and standards, David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences, Uburu, Ebonyi State, has taken decisive action by expelling eight students for various acts of misconduct. This announcement came during the institution's 3rd matriculation ceremony, where over 800 new students were formally welcomed into its academic fold.
Professor Jesse Uneke, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, revealed that the Senate had approved disciplinary actions against a total of 31 students for offenses ranging in severity. Alongside the expulsions, three students received one-year suspensions, while others faced varying degrees of disciplinary measures such as suspensions ranging from one semester to two weeks, and warning letters.

Speaking at the matriculation ceremony, Professor Uneke emphasized the institution's unwavering commitment to maintaining high standards of discipline and academic excellence. He stressed that the regulations of the university are non-negotiable and violations would be met with appropriate consequences.

The matriculation ceremony also saw the formal admission of over 800 students into various courses and disciplines offered by the university, spanning faculties such as Basic Medical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Health Sciences/Technology, Natural Sciences, and Applied Health Sciences.

In recognition of outstanding academic performances and achievements, the Vice-Chancellor presented commendation letters and cash prizes to deserving students. The event was graced by dignitaries including the Registrar, Bursar, Librarian, deputy Provost College of Medicine, and the Dean of Faculties.
Reflecting on the significance of the occasion, matriculants Mr. Jeremiah Nnaji and Miss Chinasa Okeke expressed their enthusiasm for embarking on their educational journey at the esteemed institution.
