The Students' Union Government of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto,UDUS has launched Debate Club UDUS, Awarding the naming of the club as "Debate Club UDUS", the audience praised the foresight of the organizers of the club on Saturday 19th November 2022, myschoolnews reporting.
The Students' Union of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, has on Saturday 19th November 2022 reached a resolution with team of UDUS Debaters to launch a debate club in the University.
Narrating past experiences of debate competitions, the SU CTC Chairman expressed that debate has been extra curricular activities in the school.
In his words, he said: "During the strike, we were privileged to partake in many extra curricular activities such as in Lagos, Abuja, etc. We sat down and saw the need for the school to have a permanent debate club so as to bring up the incoming ones".
The SU CTC Chairman declared that the club will continue to engage in debate competitions in honor of the University. Pioneers of the club has so far been representing Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto in inter-schools debate, while the club is open for new members and some executive positions.
The SU CTC Chairman hinted that UDUS Debaters has often times emerged overall debate winners and won handsome prices worth millions of naira.
Awarding the naming of the club as "Debate Club UDUS", the audience praised the foresight of the organizers of the club. The SU CTC Chairman added that UDUS will be going for a debate from 1st to 3rd December to discuss climate change.
