The Student Union Government (SUG) President of Ebonyi State University (EBSU), Comrade Tobias Oshim, has firmly denied allegations of embezzlement regarding a 3 million Naira fund meant for student bursaries. The allegations, raised by the university's Senate, have been met with a detailed response from Comrade Oshim, who assured that the funds remain intact and have not been transferred to his personal account.

MySchoolNews gathered that on Saturday, Comrade Oshim clarified that the delay in disbursement was due to the university's recent convocation ceremony and its aftermath, not due to any malfeasance. He emphasized that the funds for indigenous students' bursary school fees are secure and will be distributed once the committee finalizes the disbursement guidelines.

Oshim's statement, signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibekwe Chibuike, condemned the allegations from the Senate, describing them as "unwarranted and uncalled for." He suggested that the Senate's claims might be driven by attempts to defame the SUG President and gain public sympathy. He also noted that the Senate President, Comrade Usulor Marvelous, had requested cash disbursement, whereas Comrade Oshim insisted on direct payment to the university's account without any cash transactions. Oshim reinforced this policy with his declaration, "No cash gifting this time."
