The Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Muhammad Hamim Nuhu Sunusi, has been appointed as the Chancellor of Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila. The institution’s Founder, Senator Abdulrahman Suleiman Kawu Sumaila, announced the appointment on February 6, 2025, citing the Emir’s merit and leadership qualities.

The appointment was formally announced by the institution’s Founder, Distinguished Senator Abdulrahman Suleiman Kawu Sumaila, OFR, PhD, during a presentation ceremony at the Emir’s palace on Thursday, February 6, 2025.
Speaking at the event, Senator Sumaila emphasized that the decision to appoint the Emir was based on merit, citing his leadership qualities and contributions to education and community development.
